hi! I think there was theh case of a womman in Argentina, who lived in the city of Esperanza. Should she be included?
Thanks,
Jorge

Richard Jefferys

Hi Jorge, for the list here I only included cases involving people with HIV and cancers who received stem cell transplants from CCR5Δ32 homozygote donors. You're right that there are two additional cure cases involving elite controllers who appear to have cleared all viable HIV from their bodies without treatment, one is the Argentinian woman known as the Esperanza patient, the other is Loreen Willenberg (also sometimes referred to as the San Francisco patient). These additional cases are included in TAG's 2022 Research Toward a Cure and Immune-Based Therapies Pipeline Report at https://www.treatmentactiongroup.org/resources/pipeline-report/2022-pipeline-report/

Hope all is well, best wishes, Richard
