The Global HIV/AIDS Vaccine Enterprise has posted webcasts and presentations from the recent AIDS Vaccine 2008 conference in Cape Town. Among the highlights are Nancy Wilson's study showing an unprecedented degree of vaccine-induced control of an SIVE660 challenge in macaques, and Florencia Pereyra's presentation describing how targeting of certain HIV epitopes is linked to viral load control in individuals possessing "protective" HLA alleles. The webcasts include an Enterprise-sponsored session addressing the importance of bringing new young investigators into the HIV vaccine research field.
